Sonic Clothing of the USA- Modern Page 20
This page should have 2013 & 2014 Sonic clothes.
The USA is still in the golden-age of Sonic clothing, mainly shirts. Watch for great new stock art (From Sega) to appear on these shirts. Top Heavy seems to be producing less, but newcomer Bio World is making more. Both little and big sizes will likely continue. Little sizes are still ok to collect, even if you don't fit into them, because you can still fit the shirt into a frame if you like the design to make it like a poster. Primary stores here will be Sears and WalMart. However, it should be noted that Kohls, JC Penny, Hot Topic, and FYE are also getting into carrying Sonic shirts. GKWorld may also be getting into shirts as well!

You can also shop at TopHeavy Clothing Online now or the Sonic Gear Clothing Store. .(Gear store actually has a ton of stuff, about 2 pages of it, but it DOES rotate & sell out.

You Can't Keep Up Target Sonic Tee This tee is from Target in Summer 2014. It has the slogan "You can't keep up!" with classic style running Sonic. The background is a series of horizontal brown & white stripes, while the shirt looks like a medium blue. This is in the boys/teens section, so the larger sizes should fit more people. Notice the printed-in tag in the back, these are common to Target shirts but they generally don't say what company made it. Photo discovered by Shadowfoxx757
Wanted for Excessive Speed Tee Another tee, another "wanted poster" type design. This one is a mottled charcoal-gray tee with 'faux wear' weathering design. It has classic running Sonic on a blue paint square background. Spelled out in uneven letters at the top is "Wanted" then at the bottom "For Excessive Speed". It's a new slogan, so if you didn't have a classic style tee with weathering design, it could be a good pick. This is a kids/teens size in 2014 & it is reported at Dollar General stores, which is probably good news for prices. (It isn't a dollar) This store generally has racks of tees near the front & while not a dollar they are inexpensive. Info by:
Red Stripe Classic Style Wal Mart Tee This red classic style Sonic tee is a bargain at Wal Mart! It's only 6.67 in the fall of 2014. It's in the boys/teens area. The Sonic here is either classic style Japan art or a neo-classic re-do of the original. He's on a dark red thin horizontal stripe background, with the classic logo in yellow at the top. The whole shirt is bright red. With a nice big graphic & not-over-used pose, it's great to see something withOUT that weathering/wear that's also classicly styled. Photo & owned by CrystalSonic Fan
Old Navy 9 Squares STKS Gray Tee This tee is from Old Navy. Remember, that usually their designs are exclusive to that store, so if you want it, you'll probably have to go there. This is a nice looking modern shirt, in a sort of mottled blue-gray. It has the modern logo at the top & 9 squares below. There's color art and newer 2013/2014 poses for Sonic, Tails, Knuckles & Shadow. But you can also see in just blue with screentone lines or dots a ring, a lightening bolt, some 4 pointed stars, a....time stone? & a Genesis/megadrive like controller. The controller doesn't go with the modern theme, but it still looks like it fits in anyway. (The Sol emeralds were longer than that? The regular & super emeralds are generally represented as 'diamondcut' or round (top view) so what stone is that they're trying to depict there in the corner? Photo & owned by:
Doge Meme Sonic Tee Is this shirt for real?
(There's a possibility it could be a photoshop alteration, writing comic-sans words onto a black tee background isn't very hard) If it isn't....some shirt designer really has an internet sense of humor. The words on the shirt go to the meme of "Doge" the wrongly spelled version of "Dog". Who spelled it wrong? HomeStar-Runner, a flash cartoon which sometimes had nonsense plots & a somewhat dim main character (hence, why he could not spell 'dog' when he tried) Then, it was applied to a photo of a Shiba Inu dog that was rolling its eyes. Someone then wrote the sentiments of the dog (which, because it is a dog, it could not use grammar...) onto the photo. Writing wrong pre-word modifiers like "Very Sonic" & "Much Kickin" fits the sentiments of the meme-dog. The shirt also has: Wow, So Cool, Blaze It, Such Speed, Chillin all Max, Super Fast & Wow".
Watch out for another phrase though "Blaze It" is also known to mean "Its time to do pot"...whether or not the shirt makers knew that is unknown.
Usually it is "Blaze It 420" because 420 is supposedly "international pot smoking time". This is A LOT of contrivance to go through for one shirt. Why? Because memes fade and if the explanation isn't archived up in there with the item, it'll stop making sense at some point and no one will know why / the reference. Maybe block out the "it" on the "Blaze It" because pot is not cool & its too bad pot co-opted that phrase & wrecked it. Photo discovered by Taaron
Game On BW Photo Sonic Tee Here is a blue tee from Old Navy. It's sort of an aqua color, which is a bit less common. The design looks like it was meant to be a 'Polaroid" style instant camera picture, with the wide border at the bottom. But weren't all those always color? The photo here (and it is one) is in black and white. Look carefully though, and you can spot Shadow. He's there in profile, under Sonic's glove. This shirt is somewhat costly, at about 14.88 or so, & should be in the kids section. (MAY be too small for most people) Photo by CrystalSonicFan
One Does Not Simply Go Fast Mens Shirt This tee has a rather odd slogan. It says "One Does Not Simply Go Fast". Really? Because it looks like the phrase is being applied to Sonic (classic style finger waving) who actually does 'simply go fast'.
The phrase is trying to be like a meme. The meme got started in The Lord of The Rings movie with "One does not simply walk into Mordor". Then, people would add guitars & say "rock into Mordor" and it just went on from there. Memes, even when obscure/complicated or many-layered need their explanations recorded in museums of items like this one. This is a men's shirt, so it should fit anyone. It is in the Gear Store, but it should also be elsewhere. But where?
Allstars Transformed Racing Sonic Vehicles Tee Here's a pretty cool tee, if you like the All Stars Racing series. This one is for AllStars Racing: Transformed, but features only Sonic & his vehicle/s. The interesting bit is the all-over design & the fade from blue at the collar to white at the base. It shows his vehicle as the jet, the boat-like thing & the car in the foreground. The sleeves are all white, & the game's logo is in black & white sort of in the middle. Where was this available?
This is a mens' sizes shirt, called "Pixel Punk", but there's nothing really punk about it. It just has large pixelated Sonic 1 sprite running Sonic on the front of a mottled gray tee. The classic logo is small, under one of his feet. The pixelated art really broadcasts 'classic game' which is nice. This is in the Sonic Gear Store in 2014. Ready Run Grid Adult Tee This is an adults' size red tee. It was labeled "Womens" but it looks like something anyone could wear. It has a large white grid background & classic logo. The Sonic is "getting ready to run" but the art is the old Japanese version, which is interesting. All has faux wear / weathering
Neoclassic Loop Leap Black Sonic Shirt
Here's a nice tee with a fresh look. It is called "Loop Leap". It features a shaded version of neo-classic jumping Sonic. He's shown leaping through (notice that one hand is 'behind' the background) a checkered Green Hill style loop. The background is a blue-white fade, which breaks up into checkers at its edges. "Sonic the Hedgehog" is written in a thin white font across the top.
This manages to have a cute, fun AND classic looking style without resorting to being grungy, worn out or stale looking. What company produced it? Where is it available? This is in the Sonic Gear Store in 2014.
Classic Style Skateboard & Palm Tree Photo Tee This classic style tee uses more neo-classic art. It has walking Sonic with a photo? of a skateboard so it looks like it's under one arm. The board has the classic logo & a portrait of Tails & Knuckles on it. The shirt is all black, but the background is sort of interesting. They use a photo of palm trees lining a beach with a sidewalk beside it. Usually the photo (in the case of the sort of random photo background tees) is manipulated / altered so it fits in a bit better with the simple style art, however this one is not. This is in the Sonic Gear Store in 2014.
Red Stripe Background Tee This simple red tee has classic style 'ready pose' Sonic on a background of darker red stripes. But look how the stripes are 'cut out' around the front of the art to give it a bit of a popped-up / shadow look. It adds interest, if you don't already own something like this. Confirmed at Walmart CG Sonic & Tails Split Square Kids tee Here's a 2014 / fall season Wal Mart Boys/teens tee. It has CG art of Sonic & Tails (pointing) on a lightening bolt plit square background. Behind that are messy / paint spatter blue checkers. The choice of hot green is a tad loud. Photo by: Shiro Ulv
Classic Style American Apparel Clapping Tee This is an adults size shirt from American Apparel / Dopest Threads. It's white with a navy blue background of repeated rolling classic style Sonics. The main graphic is all-color clappin' Sonic. The all-over print adds interest & helps it to look retro. Photo & Owned by Shiro Ulv
