Sonic Clothing of the USA- Modern Page 18
This page should have 2012 & 2013 Sonic clothes.
The USA is still in the golden-age of Sonic clothing, mainly shirts. Watch for great new stock art (From Sega) to appear on these shirts. Top Heavy seems to be producing less, but newcomer Bio World is making more. Both little and big sizes will likely continue. Little sizes are still ok to collect, even if you don't fit into them, because you can still fit the shirt into a frame if you like the design to make it like a poster. Primary stores here will be Sears and WalMart. However, it should be noted that Kohls, JC Penny, Hot Topic, and FYE are also getting into carrying Sonic shirts. GKWorld may also be getting into shirts as well!

You can also shop at TopHeavy Clothing Online now or the Sonic Gear Clothing Store. .(Gear store actually has a ton of stuff, about 2 pages of it, but it DOES rotate & sell out.

Solo Metal Sonic red shirt Here's a first, & what a cool first it is!
This is the first shirt to feature a SOLO of Metal Sonic. Sure, he occaisionally appears in designs or as a portrait, but this cool tee has just him on there. The background is detailed, but it's not real clear what it is. (machinery? abstract?) This is a boys/teens size shirt from fall 2013. Where can you buy this? How much is it? A seller in the Sonic Gear Store has it up for sale, but it's got to be available somewhere else too. What company made it? This is a total must-have for Metal fans!
Fade jump Sonic blue graphic tee This adult sizes tee is nice & fairly stylish. It has a more subtle Sonic design (even though he's quite large) The tee itself is a dark navy blue (may appear black in photo) & the leaping modern Sonic design is all printed in blue. It likely has that 'weathering' or 'faux wear' to the top of the design. It fades naturally in, from foot to head. You can see the modern logo down there to the right. The combination of all blue art & the fade give this tee a unique look. It should also be available in the Sonic Gear Store , It is also at Spencer's Gifts as "Sonic Jump Tee". This appeared in late summer 2013.
Modern 4 Poses Color Squares Sonic Design This modern shirt features 4 poses for Sonic, each with a different colored background. The logo is divided between the top & bottom of the tee. There have been other previous designs similar to this, in both modern & classic styles. This DOES have some of that 'faux wear' or weathering to the design. The Sonic graphics are somewhat interesting as they're done only in blue & white. This is a good tee if you don't already have something similar. This shirt is at JC Penny in summer/fall 2013 & should be about 9.00
Awesomeness Hot Yellow Tee Look at how bright this is! This is certainly the first time such a bright, hot color has been used for a Sonic shirt. It is quite the fluorescent yellow. (What would this do under a blacklight?) Even this photo does not do justice to the x-treme brightness of the fabric they used here. It has jumping twist modern Sonic in black & white (could he glow in the dark too?) with squares & the word "Awesomeness!!" written across the top. This is a Sears boys/teens size tee, but look at the tag...it looks like a new company is on the scene? Dynasty? What does the tag say? Write in if you know who this company is.
Little kids Eggman Sonic Squares Shirt This is a tee that only comes in small little kids sizes. It's kind of dissapointing though, because the design is nice & features Eggman who is still pretty uncommon on merchandise. It has portraits for Sonic, Eggman, Tails & Shadow in dark blue squares against the blue background. The modern logo is at the bottom. This is a Sears shirt, & will be located in the babies / toddlers area because of the size. It should be between 5 & 7 dollars if you see it in 2013.
Pull Here Black tee How did THIS tee get past quality control?
Sonic has never been a series about fart gags & toilet humor. Anyone who wanted that should look for Dr. Slump, not Sonic the Hedgehog. So what's up with this tee? They used classic 'laughing pointing Sonic' & added the text "Pull here for a Sonic Boom!" which is meant to be a re-arranged version of "Pull My Finger & I Will Fart". Now, why finger pulling was thought to cause gas is just one of those old fashion grownups superstitions which has no apparent explanation--unlike say, beans or cooked cabbages which are the general folksy 'culprit' of such things.
This shirt is at Sears (boys/teens) but is very un-Sonic-like.
Step up Your Game Classic style Tee
This red tee is another classic style, with weathering to the design. It has finger wavin' Sonic in a black circle & the slogan "Step Up Your Game" written in yellow around it. The slogan is decent, and it is new. However, the shirt's design is rather similar to several previous tees. A decent tee if you needed the slogan or didn't already have anything like it.
This shirt is available at JC Penny in 2013 & should be about 9.00 in the boys/teens section.
This is what awesome looks like red tee
Another tee with the accurate "This is what Awesome Looks Like!" slogan on it. This time, it uses a shiny sliver tone paint for the slogan. It has classic arms-crossed Sonic in the middle of a blue ring with white stars. It's good to see the use of creative inks instead of that shabby looking 'weathering', but do keep in mind that some specialty inks don't wear well, and some don't even last. If you plan on buying a shirt with fancy detail such as shiny ink, fuzzy ink, or glitter on it, never put it through the dryer (hang it up) and use a washer-delicates-bag for the washer. Either that or the safest option is merely collecting/displaying it.
Figure Trio CG Knuckles Sonic Tails Tee This tee uses CG art to create a fresh look!
It's called "Figure Trio Tee", & features Sonic, Knuckles & Tails, the original cool team. Knuckles & Tails are in rectangles of color, while Sonic stands partially outside of his rectangle and is shown pointing...down? There is likely to be a bit of background detail or pattern inside the rectangles but the photo is too small to tell what's going on. There isn't really another shirt that looks like this one, so if you're looking for something different, pick this up. It should be a winter 2014 item (but short sleeve in winter?)
Rip it up Orange Sonic tee
This bright orange tee has the slogan "Sonic Rip it Up", & the design follows its own advice, as it's 'torn' into several pieces. Modern jumping-twist Sonic appears on a colorful fade & checker background, but the whole thing has a white outline "ripped paper" edge effect. The pieces are also slightly apart letting the orange of the shirt show through. It makes for a fresh/interesting look, certainly no other shirt design has been set to look torn up. The letters are in a block/cut out type of font.
The tag shows it's probably one of those "Issaac Morris" brand ones where the maker is quite hidden, there is no cloth tag, & the printed-in neck-tag doesn't say who its' by either. This is probably a winter 2014 item. Where can you find it?
Awesomeness boost version tee This is that "Awesomeness!" super bright hot yellow tee from above. (Don't be fooled by the pale color in this photo it's still super bright) However, notice the sticker that's now on there. This is the 2nd known "AR" (that's Augmented Reality) shirt. The sticker tells you to "Get the Boost App" for your phone, then focus the phone on the shirt and "The Design Comes Alive".
So what makes this one different from the one above? The design appears identical...what did they add to make phone functionality? What does the design actually do when you 'use' it with AR? Write in if you've ever seen it go.
Little Kids 4 Character Shirt Here are 2 tees for little kids only. This is a Sears winter 2014 item. The left tee is pretty cool, as it has Eggman included (good for Eggfans) & some dynamic design with characters overlapping their rectangle backgrounds. The right tee has modern thumbs-up Sonic, tiny hot green checker background & hot pink border. Interestingly, the logo is re-colored as well. Pink border little kids small Sonic tee
Jinx Clothing women's red classic style tee
This tee is from Jinx Clothing online in 2014. It's a clothing shop that serves adults, so this will fit anybody. Do note that this is the women's version. (there's a men's cut as well, but womens' cut tees are less common by far) That means that it is slimmer/thinner in the waist area so that it will cling to whoever wears it & likely the sleeve openings are slightly smaller as well.
The design is Japanese "getting ready to run" classic Sonic with the classic logo & grid background. It has weathering to the design. Since it's an adult size, it's more costly at 22.99 retail price. Discovered by Taaron
Fast Faster Supersonic Brown Tee Here are 2 tees that are the same color of brown, & in mens' sizes. They're also "retro" style, with 60s type old script-like fonts & that sort of burnt-orange color for borders & graphics. The sleeve logo (classic logo, but in orange) is present on both tees. The left tee has 3 different classic style stock arts with the captions "Fast" , "Faster" and "Supersonic". The right side shirt says "Livin Fast" with classic running/doodle/scribble legs Sonic, all in orange tones. Ignore the pale stripes, that's sunlight from blinds in the photo, not part of the shirt/design. Where can you buy these? Livin Fast Brown Retro Style Tee
Lightening Speed Sonic Tails Knuckles CG Tee
This black kids size tee features CG art so the characters have new poses. Sonic is running & looking back, Knuckles is gliding with a fist forward to one side & Tails is running in complete profile. The background is a swatch of orange-ish honeycomb pattern. The slogan here is "Lightening Speed" , with the modern logo at the bottom. Notice the sky blue rectangle tag with modern logo & interior printed collar logo in white. Where is this sold? How much does it cost?
