Not all Sonic games were equal in popularity, but it seems they pretty much all got CD soundtracks. Also on this page are some compilations for both Sonic, and Sonic Team. Sonic the Fighters, the strange and unusual arcade game even got a soundtrack. This was the oddest (and hardest to get) Sonic game next to Sonic the Arcade, which used a trackball and has still not been released to a compilation disk on any system in 2007. The CD cover features the Fighters symbol, and the back has most of the cast in all their virtua-fighter like square polygonal 'glory'.

This one could be relativly hard to collect due to the non-popularity of the game, and the fact that it was only released somewhat after the game came out.

Curiously enough, this Sonic R CD Soundtrack was released -way- after Sonic R itself. As you can see, the cover has Sonic Adventure 1 style Sonic on it, an updated look which came along way after the original game.
Sonic R was one of the first Sonic games to have actual vocal tracks in it. (with Sonic CD being the first). The tunes here were very catchy (so much so many people were frusterated with them) and had a very happy style.

Despite the more modern release, the cover still manages to have a somewhat strange poem or motto on it.
It reads:
"Reach for a new Dimension. Ready for a new excitement. Road leads you to a new world. Rivals are here. Race it for the victory. R is it"

Sonic Team Unplugged Many Game Songs Back

This is more of a "Sonic Team" CD then it is a Sonic CD. Despite the entire back cover being taken up by a graphic of Sonic's eyes, he has just 1 song on the disk. The cover has a variety of characters from Sonic Teams games, including Billy Hatcher, NiGHTS, a nightopia, Ash, Ulala, two of the Burning Rangers and some Morolians--all using recycled art. If you like many of the games Sonic Team produces, this is a good one to collect.

For Sonic's 10th Anniversary, they released a nice free kit of Sonic stuff. This is actually a cardboard box with gold foil embossing on it, which makes it difficult to scan or photograph. (it is mirror-like) You can feel the indented design. This box contains a CD, a special metal coin, and a booklet about Sonic. It's HIGHLY collectible, and appears (opened/display) elsewhere on the site.*

The CD has a nice selection of Sonic music throughout the years, and across the systems. If you want a great sampling of Sonic music, this is a wonderful one to collect, both because of historical Sonic signifigance, and the nice variety.

This CD could be from Germany. It's called "The Better One Wins" and does not actually contain any Sonic music. Is it like a Dance Power? Possibly. It has Guns n Roses, Bobby Brown, Dr. Alban, Double You, Erasure & Felix. The top says "Super Sonic PrAsentiert" and the bottom says "Aus der Funk und something" Why does this exist? This is a rather mystrious CD cover. It mentions nothing and only has an abstract string/marker/colored line circular scribbling going on for the graphic. It says "Club Sega" but reveals nothing of the content, or why/where it was made. This is reported to contain at least 1 Sonic related song. Know any details? Write in for credit! Sonic Colors Vivid Sound Hybrid CD music OST

Sonic Colors naturally recieved an OST disk. This one is called Vivid Sound X Hybrid Colors. The graphic here is creative, mixing black & white with spatters of hot colored paint. The fonts chosen are somewhat-retro, styled after the 80s & 70s. It likely contains all the songs from the game itself, & has 3 Disks! The music of Colors was well regarded as popular by many fans & general game players. It makes a lot of sense to have a CD available for the great music.Cover discovred by Piplupfan77

Planetary Pieces Sonic World Adventure OST

While it was called "Sonic Unleashed" in the USA, it was called "Sonic World Adventure" elsewhere. As you can tell, this isn't the USA version of this official sound track disk. It's somewhat subtle (not using a picture of Sonic at all) going with a variety of broken up/weathered looking fonts for the title, and just placing it over a planet-rise panorama with stars. Here are 2 CDs for Sonic & Black Knight sound tracks. But how are they different? Tales is a 2 disk set with all the music, while FaceToFaith has only the songs with vocals...mostly. At left, Face 2 Faith is sub-headed with Vocal Trax, and at right Tales of Knighthood is sub-headed Original Soundtrax. Here are the interior shots for Face to Faith. The disk itself is covered with the red 'celtic-like' designs from the cover texture. It also has the title in Japanese, along with the logo. The back of the case has the track listings, as you'd expect. The interior of the book is neat, it has a general red/black theme, but a nice mysterious/scary picture of The Black Knight going on there as well.
